International Builders’ Show (IBS) 2023

The International Builders’ Show (IBS) 2023 was held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 31st to February 2nd. The show attracted thousands of building professionals worldwide who were interested in learning about the latest products, technologies, and trends in the construction industry.

While at IBS, the Quality PM, Inc. team set out to accomplish five main goals. (Well, actually, six goals, but since we didn’t win big at Bellagio’s, we won’t list that goal here.)

  1. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements: We want to be industry leaders in the Capital Region when it comes to knowing the newest products and technologies in the home remodeling industry.
  2. Network with vendors and suppliers: Having a strong relationship with vendors and suppliers provides opportunities for us to get more things done while working on our client’s projects.
  3. Explore new products and services: Being open-minded and exploring new things allows us to provide our clients with all of the best available options.
  4. Learn from industry experts: Continual learning is required for all QPM team members, and the exceptional educational seminars and workshops at IBS ensure we accomplish that.
  5. Establish new partnerships: Meeting new people is the lifeblood of business. And being surrounded by so many people who love home renovations as much as we do was a dream come true.

Notable Highlights at IBS

There were over 800 different vendors and suppliers at this year’s IBS. While we did our best to check out every single one, we focused on the vendors that fit our core competencies. Companies such as Schluter, Delta, Therma-Tru, WhisperRecessed, and more showcased their latest innovations in home, kitchen, and bath products and services. There was a lot to cover, so we opted to ‘highlight’ the highlights of each of our favorite vendors below. (Some of them will even be getting their own blog post!)

In addition to the vendor exhibits, there were also numerous educational sessions and workshops we attended. These sessions covered various topics, including marketing and sales, building codes and regulations, and the latest trends in home design. Industry professionals ran these sessions and gave us valuable insights that we will be sure to make some thorough blog posts about in the future.

The show also featured several keynote speakers, including noted architects and builders, who shared their insights and experiences in the industry. These speakers discussed topics such as the future of the building industry, the role of technology in construction, and the challenges faced by builders and contractors in the current economic climate. We won’t be publishing any content on these but take comfort in the fact that we have eternalized these lessons and are currently implementing them into our business so we can provide our clients with an even better experience.

And, of course, there were plenty of networking events every night at IBS. We aren’t currently sure how we will show you the highlights of those events, but stay tuned. We’ll be sure to think of something exciting.

Notable Exhibits at IBS

Andersen Windows

We’ve been using Andersen Windows for as long as we can remember. Their exhibit had a lot to offer, so we’ll be making a full blog post on everything you need to know about them.

Busch + Cambria

Busch + Cambria is one of our go-to providers of countertops. And they were flaunting some seriously cool new colors and designs.

Café

Café is one of the new kids on the block. Their kitchen appliances and accessories will make you wonder why you didn’t consider upgrading your refrigerator’s handle sooner. Read more about them here.

Delta Faucets

Delta Faucet, a leading manufacturer of plumbing products, presented its latest innovations in kitchen and bathroom faucets. They have a new line of pull-down bathroom faucets that you can check out here.

HDPocketDoors

HDPocketDoors was one of our favorite vendors at IBS. They had a demonstration of their Pocket Door Kit that really impressed us. Their kit is extremely sturdy, easy to install, and great value for the price. We loved them so much that we wrote up a blog post highlighting why you will see their products a lot more in our future builds. Check out the post here.

Kohler

They don’t need any introduction as they are probably one of the most recognizable names in our industry. Kohler had one hell of a showing at IBS. It seemed like they decided to center their whole exhibit around redefining how people thought of plumbing product design and its marriage with functionality. Read the blog post.

Protective Products

When we need surface protection on our job sites, Protective Products International is going to be our new best friend. Their exhibit was filled with everything from reusable floor coverings to advanced dust control apparatuses. But one product that stood out was their FlexJamb door protectors. Check out the blog post we wrote about FlexJamb here.

Schluter Systems

Schluter Systems showcased its extensive range of products, including its patented shower systems, ceramic and stone tile installation systems, and floor heating systems. We exclusively use Schluter products for our bathroom remodels, so we’ll be making a second post on all of their updates from IBS soon.

Therma-Tru Doors

Therma-Tru, a leading manufacturer of entry doors, showcased its latest collections of stylish and energy-efficient entry doors, featuring innovative designs, advanced materials, and advanced security features. Attendees could see Therma-Tru’s products in action and learn about the unique benefits that enhance the functionality, security, and curb appeal of homes.

WhisperRecessed

WhisperRecessed (by Panasonic) is an innovative ventilation technology brand. They were showcasing their new line of vents with LEDs built-in.

Can’t Wait for Next Year!

Overall, the International Builders’ Show 2023 was a huge success. Our team left with valuable insights, connections, and knowledge. The opportunity for us to network, learn and discover the latest trends and technologies in the building industry was invaluable. We can’t wait to pass on everything we learned to the rest of our team and our clients! Next year’s IBS should be even better.

If you want to hear more about anything we did or more about the vendors at this year’s IBS, please reach out to us. We’d love to talk about it with you or even add it to this blog.
